![]() These materials or filaments come on spools of 0.5 Kg to 1 Kg. With modifications or latest generation printers it's possible to print in other materials like nylon, laywoo3D (PLA mixed with woodfibers), laybrick (mix of PLA and sandstone), FilaFlex (rubbery stretchy material), PET (transparent, same as plastic bottles). Then there's the print material, usually PLA (bio-degradable) or ABS (same material as car bumpers, lego bricks. Sure there are new generation 3D printers available at this moment with a lower layer height (or layer thickness). So does mine, with a layer height of 0.2 mm. However, most consumer 3D printers print in layers. It has a built platform of 4.7" x 4.7" x 4.7". Since November 2013 I have a 3D printer, a relatively cheap pre-built model: PP3DP Up! Mini.
